Home is where the desk is...

Aaaalrighty. I passed my midterm (don't you love when teachers let you know right after they grade it, instead of waiting seven million days for you to find out?) so today was a cleaning/balancing checkbook/minor homework/netflix/cooking sort of day. Such a nice change of pace after studying like it was the end of the world for the past week. :)
So, here's what's new:
Last Thursday, Matt came home for lunch and knocked on the door. Which is odd. He has keys, and I can't even remember if the door was locked or not. So, I got up and opened the door only to see purple flowers among the armful of things he was carrying, a "Did you order these?", and a big grin.
Now, you have to understand, Matt is like the general population of men and thinks that "roses smell like 50 bucks." so it's kind of a big deal that he brought flowers home. :) Totally made my day. But that wasn't it...
he carried a grocery bag over to the table, and pulled out some cinnamon lips candy ("for all those kisses [he owes me]") and a Reeces. He grinned again, and told me the cookies and cream bar was for him though. :)
But really. Not even my birthday or Valentines, and he brings me flowers. :) I'm the luckiest girl ever.
(Enough of the swooning, moving on.)

Secondly, I've been insanely grateful for the inventor of the Crock Pot. Tuesday and Thursday I have class from 5-9 in St. George, so obviously I'm not home to make food for my cute husband. I know he's perfectly capable of making his own dinner, and sometimes he does. I just feel like that's one way I can make life easier for him. :) (Chemistry classes are bum kickers!)
This is the crock pot lasagna I tried out
(from pinterest, surprise surprise) , and we really liked
it! (we being me, who didn't have to do anything past
layer it and turn the crock pot on) It's the same recipe,
you just leave it on low for 8 hours, or high for 4. :)

I feel like I should just live in scrubs now.
They're super comfy. It's like pajamas that are acceptable
to the public.  It's pretty grand. :)
We've been collecting furniture give-aways since we got married. (We seriously have such a supportive, amazing family! We didn't buy any of the furniture in our house. Nice, right?) So we set to work setting up our spare bedroom as our homework center. :) It feels like a real room now! The other side is just the bathroom wall, and Matt's guitar in the corner. Not nearly as photogenic as this cute, maybe slightly crammed side. ;)

We really spend so much time in this room now!
It's kind of a nice change of scenery, instead of
my very same spot on the couch for reading.

Wednesday when it was really sunny I was reading in the spare bedroom and the light coming through the window seemed perfect on the flowers, so we had a small photoshoot. Aren't they beautiful?

I feel like I should sell these to a stock photo company
and strike it rich. ;)
Aaand lastly. I came home from taking my midterm yesterday and found this note on my door...

and this package in our barbecue. I couldn't help but giggle, because I'm sure the intention of the delivery man was to get around leaving the package on the doorstep, but if anyone had wanted to take it, there were great directions to the hiding spot. ;)

Life is good guys. It's friday! Go have a date night. :)
