Week 15

I just keep feeling better and better! I almost don't want to say anything too positive because I'm afraid I'll jinx myself! I am suuuper starving lately. Like seriously, nothing sates my hunger. I eat and literally 5 minutes later I'm hungry again. Not just, "hmm, food sounds kind of good" hungry, it's like the end of Fast Sunday hungry. Maybe baby Coffin is going through a growth spurt? I'm getting a little sick of eating! Haha, oh well. Good cause right?
The other bright sides of this week are:
-I have a little more energy! I still crash half way through the day and wish I had time for a nap, but for the most part I feel like cleaning and cooking and functioning during the day! (Three cheers!)
-I feel like myself again! Today has been rainy and cozy and I've seriously felt so giddy thinking about holidays and crafts and I like people again! (I always felt/feel like it sounds like a total cop out to blame grumpy feelings on hormones whether it was PMS or pregnancy... guys. I really felt like a monster most days over the past few months. I had zero patience, I hated all our patients at work (mean, right?) and stupid things would make me SO flustered! Today I feel like... I don't even know how to explain it without sounding super cheesy. I feel like I've been in a fog and now it's clearing out! I feel more positive, and kinder, and happier! Yay!

Today we had a patient come in for her last visit. She's moving to New Mexico, and she's been a regular this year so Dr. Williams got her a card and we both signed it last time she came in and gave it to her. :) Well today I come back to my desk after helping a patient and there's this blue and yellow wrapped box on my desk. So I looked outside, and there she was getting something else out of her car. She came back in and handed me an envelope that said, "Receipt for baby gift". :) Bless her cute heart. She left before I could give her a hug and get her address to stay in touch!
At lunch I opened up the gift and she had bought us 3 newborn outfits (that are absolutely DARLING) and one for a one year old. She got boy clothes because she knew I've been hoping for a boy. :) I seriously hope it is a boy now, because I don't want to return these! They're so cute! She also got me a necklace that says mom and has a butterfly on it. :) How thoughtful of her!

Hello there...

So. It's been a while.
I've got lots of pictures to share! (What's new, right?)
Life got absolutely NUTS over the past week. Let me explain... no that would take to long. Let me sum up. (Name that movie!!)

If we're FB friends you already know the gist of it, but I'm here to dramatize it. ;)
A week ago today, Matt and I went to play cards with some of our friends and I got all grumpy and tired (it was a loooong day in class) so we went home and got ready for bed. Well, like an hour-ish later one of our neighbors texted to invite Matt to go long boarding with him and one other friend. I told him he should go- he usually doesn't leave and hang out with just the guys and he wasn't necessarily ready to go home yet.
As soon as I said that, all the long boarding horror stories flashed through my head. I think I told him to 'be so careful!' at least five times before he left, then said some 'please watch over my husband' prayers and went to sleep.
I woke up to Matt kissing my forehead and telling me "I think I hurt myself" around 1:00. I'm thinking skinned elbows and knees, so when he said he was going to the ER I flew out of bed, and off to the hospital we went! Matt's arm was really stiff and his elbow felt weird and he was in a lot of pain. We filled out some forms and went back, and waited. And waited. And waited some more.
Our neighbors who helped patch up the boys after the crash came to the hospital and offered to let me go home and sleep, but let's be honest. I come from a long line of worriers, there was no way I was sleeping that night.
After some x-rays, a double splint, and some pain killers we got home around 4 AM and finally went to bed.
I'm sure you're wondering, now, how he crashed. Well. They decided to park one car at Brads on the North end of Main, and another car at Smiths on the South end and long board to the first car. Sounds way fun right! I guess the way you slow down when you're long boarding is by carving back and forth, but a car was coming so Matt couldn't do that. He tried putting his foot down to slow himself down but that basically just catapulted him forward. He did a somersault I guess, and landed right back up on his feet! It's too bad no one got a video of that, because it sounds pretty tricky. ;)

Needless to say the past week has been an adjustment. Matt broke his right arm in three places. (For you medical terminology savvy people, it was his navicular bone, hammate, and right above one of the condyles on his humerus.) He's had to figure out how to do all sorts of things left handed. I'll have an ambidextrous husband in 6 weeks! ;)
I also started my new job on May 20th, and I love it! That's kept me pretty busy, and we're down to the final two weeks of the PhT program. I can't decide if that's good or bad, I'm not ready to take the final!

We're just super grateful that the accident wasn't worse, and we've been able to figure out insurance so we're not totally broke (yet). Heavenly Father definitely cares about all the small things, I've seen so many tender mercies in the middle of all our stress, and it makes me so grateful we have the gospel in our lives!
(And lots of amazing family and friends. :) We love you all!)

When my final's done I'll start my externship hours, hopefully at both Walgreens and Smiths, but my time should be a little more open and I'll start the dump of back-dated blog catch ups. ;)
Until then, Happy Summer!

[pretend this is a witty title]

Guys, I'm pooped. And it's only Wednesday!
Sports Authority has gone great so far! I've only worked two days, so I still feel clueless most of the time. Today was definitely easier than Monday. Basically I'm that annoying employee who asks a million questions, but at least I'm trying to help out where I can for the time being. :) I dusted like nobody's business today! (And scaled shelves to get shoes for cute kids to try on.)
So, I have to have a brag moment. I have one meal cooking right now, three in the freezer, and some leftovers in the fridge for lunches. (Which is why I'm pooped!) I also have homemade rolls, because we need more padding. :p

Two cute stories from the day, both involving kids.
#1: A quiet, little guy came in with his grandma earlier today to try on basketball shoes. We found some sweet looking Nike's and the second he got them on and tied, he was off!
Rewinding a little, Matt and I had looked at shoes over Christmas break, and he told me that when he was little he would always run when he tried on shoes to buy. He had to make sure they made him run the fastest, of course! :) Cute, right?
Back to the present. With both pairs of shoes this little boy tried on, he'd take off weaving through the clothes racks. Testing out the lateral support? :p It made me chuckle. Must be a boy thing.

#2: I went over to a little family to see if they had anything they wanted me to bring out to try on, and the youngest boy pipes up (drowning out his mom's "no") "YES! Blue, come!" So I follow him to the kids section and he points out a rather patriotic looking pair of soccer cleats. "I want blue shoes! Huh?" And he just kept saying that over and over and over! When one of the managers came down, he did the same thing to him. "Blue shoes, Huh!"
Clearly the blue shoes are the best!

And now I'm back to homework doing, waiting for my handsome homework buddy to get home so we can bond over Chemistry and Pharmacology. Oh the romance! :p Maybe this weekend we'll get to go on a date or something. :)

Sorry, this was maybe a boring post, I just haven't said anything in a little while!
