Hello there...

So. It's been a while.
I've got lots of pictures to share! (What's new, right?)
Life got absolutely NUTS over the past week. Let me explain... no that would take to long. Let me sum up. (Name that movie!!)

If we're FB friends you already know the gist of it, but I'm here to dramatize it. ;)
A week ago today, Matt and I went to play cards with some of our friends and I got all grumpy and tired (it was a loooong day in class) so we went home and got ready for bed. Well, like an hour-ish later one of our neighbors texted to invite Matt to go long boarding with him and one other friend. I told him he should go- he usually doesn't leave and hang out with just the guys and he wasn't necessarily ready to go home yet.
As soon as I said that, all the long boarding horror stories flashed through my head. I think I told him to 'be so careful!' at least five times before he left, then said some 'please watch over my husband' prayers and went to sleep.
I woke up to Matt kissing my forehead and telling me "I think I hurt myself" around 1:00. I'm thinking skinned elbows and knees, so when he said he was going to the ER I flew out of bed, and off to the hospital we went! Matt's arm was really stiff and his elbow felt weird and he was in a lot of pain. We filled out some forms and went back, and waited. And waited. And waited some more.
Our neighbors who helped patch up the boys after the crash came to the hospital and offered to let me go home and sleep, but let's be honest. I come from a long line of worriers, there was no way I was sleeping that night.
After some x-rays, a double splint, and some pain killers we got home around 4 AM and finally went to bed.
I'm sure you're wondering, now, how he crashed. Well. They decided to park one car at Brads on the North end of Main, and another car at Smiths on the South end and long board to the first car. Sounds way fun right! I guess the way you slow down when you're long boarding is by carving back and forth, but a car was coming so Matt couldn't do that. He tried putting his foot down to slow himself down but that basically just catapulted him forward. He did a somersault I guess, and landed right back up on his feet! It's too bad no one got a video of that, because it sounds pretty tricky. ;)

Needless to say the past week has been an adjustment. Matt broke his right arm in three places. (For you medical terminology savvy people, it was his navicular bone, hammate, and right above one of the condyles on his humerus.) He's had to figure out how to do all sorts of things left handed. I'll have an ambidextrous husband in 6 weeks! ;)
I also started my new job on May 20th, and I love it! That's kept me pretty busy, and we're down to the final two weeks of the PhT program. I can't decide if that's good or bad, I'm not ready to take the final!

We're just super grateful that the accident wasn't worse, and we've been able to figure out insurance so we're not totally broke (yet). Heavenly Father definitely cares about all the small things, I've seen so many tender mercies in the middle of all our stress, and it makes me so grateful we have the gospel in our lives!
(And lots of amazing family and friends. :) We love you all!)

When my final's done I'll start my externship hours, hopefully at both Walgreens and Smiths, but my time should be a little more open and I'll start the dump of back-dated blog catch ups. ;)
Until then, Happy Summer!
