Like a month ago in a lab coat...

Hey guys. Remember how I got to tour Deseret Labs in St. George?  Well, I finally have the pictures from it, so here they are!

Me, Jenni, and Megan

L-R: front row: Jenni, Chelsea, Me, Heather, Patrick, Megan, Adriana
back row: Brett, Linda, Justin, Shiloh, Caden and Paige

(I know that wasn't a ton... :p we couldn't take pictures on the inside of all the labs and warehouses.)
And on that note, classes have been so fun! This 'semester' has been lots of labs! The first day back from Spring break we did a lab to practice filling prescriptions, and a role play on grumpy customers on the phone. I definitely liked the first lab better. ;) It's really cool, DXATC has a room with old drug bottles (filled with old candy) organized the way that most pharmacies organize their shelves. :) It was pretty fun! Who knew I'd like counting by 5's! As for the second lab... the girl who has been helping out since Linda was gone, would be the furious customer. She used real stories from when she was working at a pharmacy and taking phone calls. :p Too early prior authorizations, Medicaid problems, getting their neighbor's prescription instead... you name it. And when she breaks down crying while you're apologizing profusely? Well, you're pretty much done for. What do you even say to sobbing customers who won't listen to you? Clearly I need lots more practice. Because you also cannot laugh. Sounds easy enough, right? Try dealing with Cialis issues over the phone where the reasoning is an exciting weekend getaway. I doubt insurance has a code for that.
We also compounded 'Pink Swizzle' the last time. Which is a prescription diaper rash cream. I love that we're into the hands on part of all this.

This year's birthday gave me a reason to change my view on birthdays. :p I haven't liked birthdays for the past few years. Yesterday I got chocolate chip waffles for breakfast in bed, I got to fill out my W4's and I9 for my new job at Sport's Authority (and I got a copy of my schedule, I start Monday! Great birthday present, right??) I got to hang out and get 'slooshies' with Erin and catch up on life, Matt had the evening off so we got to hang out, and play find the hidden birthday present in the house (which was that awesome curling rod I've been wanting, and it was purple no less!) :p We went to dinner at Lupita's, and then had homemade ice cream cake with my sisters! And even though Matt had to work a noc shift, the party went on! The twins and I went to Walmart in the middle of the night for Khaki pants (for the job, and we all watched some awesome Phineas and Ferb, and Thief and the Cobbler. :p
Today Matt and I get to go on a double date with my mom and dad to the St. George temple to do sealings for family names, and then get some dinner! The temple has been closed for a little while this past month, so I've missed it! And it doesn't hurt that I haven't had to worry about making or cleaning up dinner two nights in a row! Hooray for birthdays! :D

  2. Jon has forgotten my birthday a couple years in a row, but he more than makes up for it. (Don't tell him I told you that.) {: It sounds like your day was awesome! Homemade ice cream cake sounds amazing. Jon LOVES DQ's, but we all know homemade is always better.
