This year, as every year, we spent the weekend of Memorial Day in Hatch(ish area) doing calf branding. Matt had to work Sunday at Emerald Pointe, so I drove over with Erin Saturday night and stayed in Hatch with Mason, Miralva, cute Brooklyn, and our family. We went to church in Tropic, which is my favorite! I miss my Tropic home. :)
(I have to tattle, in sacrament meeting Grandma was laying on Grandpa's shoulder for a minute, and I'm telling you it was the cutest thing I've ever seen! If it wasn't totally frowned upon to whip out my ipod camera and sneak up behind them, I totally would have. I love our family. :) I love the examples we have of amazing relationships and wonderful people!)
After church we had dinner with cute said grandparents, and Meg and I got a little camera happy ;)
(I'm kinda lazy, so these are the un edited ones)

| I so love Grandma and Grandpa's yard. |
| Dude, everything tastes better at grandma's house. |
| The ant hill looked cool to me I guess. :p |
| She is so gorgeous!! |
| He's our cutest farm model ever. ;) |
Matt met us in Hatch that night, roasted some mallows ('when the mallow is flamin, put it on the grahm. And cover it with the other end! Name that movie!) The next day was long, but so fun! Lots of family, good food, sunshine and cute baby cows!
| I don't think I'll ever get used to these views. :) |
| Ok. Who just died of cuteness attacks?? |
Michelle and Maseo (spelling? Sorry) came over to help too. :)
It was so fun to see and visit with them and Uncle Ivor. |
| Seriously though guys, cutest helper! |
In case you all wondered... I stink at branding. But I'm an
excellent shot giver and a fairly good paparazzi ;) |
| BABY FOUR-WHEELER?!! |
Such beautiful Hatch skies! I'm in love
with clouds, and I'm not even completely
sure why. They're just amazing! |
While we were branding and vaccinating at Uncle Ivor's,
we had several tourists stop and take pictures of it all. :p
(Probably because we're "real live cowboys" ;) ) |
| These two were pretty great calf wrestlers! |
Random side note... picture... Marissa and I found an inch worm while watching all the cow wrestling! |
| Maseo and dad on Moqui. |
| :D :D :D |
And if you haven't been totally pictured out, here's some from an early morning water change with my dad. :)
It was such a fun trip! I have a special place in my heart for Hatch and Tropic, probably because I really love the people that are there. :) We live in a beautiful part of the world. :)
SUCH beautiful pictures! I feel like I'm not a true heap because I've never done the calf branding. What can I say, I grew up and became a city slicker. Lame. But these pictures are awesome and I am proud to come from a family of "real live cowboys"! I wish I was as legit as all of you. For now I will try to be cool by association. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously, such awesome pictures!!!
Perfect pictures....Wow, Shannon i am so happy that you have your new camera....I can tell you are really enjoying it . This post made me really homesick for Hatch and brought back precious memories of time spent in Tropic when I was younger....We do live in a very beautiful place.....AMAZING....
ReplyDeleteI loved all the pictures! Some of them made me giggle. We do have fun together! What great memories!
ReplyDeleteHey Shan, let's get some of these printed and make a wall arrangement! I think Lloyd's photo could be the large one in the center.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, lets decorate a wall in the cabin - there's wall space in the family room. What do you think?
