Dun da da DUN! We're down to 29 days. Guys, this is flying! (Yup, I know. I'm a total broken record, sorry.)
Today I had another doctor's appointment, he did the Strep B swabs (?) and then checked to see if I've started to dilate at all. (Now here's where I become the blogger I swore up and down that I wouldn't. It's common knowledge that baby doctors check dilation and effacement at the end of your pregnancy, but I never thought it seemed appropriate to discuss. Maybe I should stick with my original opinion, but since this is my journal, my hormones are wild, and I'm now one of those people who is excited about these sorts of TMI details... well. You get to hear about it. Feel free to skip it if you so desire, I used to too.)
*Drum roll please*
Not only am I measuring ahead of schedule, but I'm already at a 1. So maybe Jaden's going to be a good boy and come right on time! Maybe even a tiny bit early! (I keep reminding myself that I'm not getting my hopes up and that 'my due date is the 13th'. (lies. it's the fifth but i don't want to be angry and miserable if/when i go over my due date) )
Just thought I'd show off my latest fashion statement. This thing has been my life saver!
This week has been hard, and now I realize why. I haven't felt super great, I'm tired and I hurt most of the time at work now. I've still had to lift chairs occasionally, and they're not super heavy but... I probably shouldn't be lifting them. Cleaning the office has become more of a comedy routine. My belly isn't clear out to Timbuktu, but when I'm bending over trying to pick up garbage and unplug machines it sure feels like it is! ;)
The other reason this week has been hard is that I've been having what I thought were just more growing pains a lot. Turns out they're real live contractions. (But only 'kind of real contractions'. Haha, the doctor was like, they're sort of the in-between contractions from Braxton Hicks to REAL real contractions. Oh goody.) They're not like roll around screaming in agony painful, but they are painful. We all know how much I love pain. (rolls eyes.) Right. I'm a wimp. Yay for modern medicine!
I haven't really had any new aversions, I'm back to hating water but I'm dutifully chugging it down in hopes it'll curb the morning-afternoon headaches.
I've craved Root beer consistently at the most random times for the past week. Like at 5 am. :p I've also been dying for any kind of red meat, so we had a roast on a not Sunday. Which seemed weird, but tasted like heaven.
The best part of this week has probably been not having as puffy feet, and hearing that I'm measuring ahead. :p I'm still freaking out that we're in the homestretch, but I think the scales have tipped enough that I'm done with being pregnant and just ready to get this baby here! (I think Heavenly Father planned it that way so the entire female population wouldn't absolutely die of anxiety.) I do have mixed feelings on the chance he could come early (which, again. I'm totally not banking on because I swear everyone else's stories have been that the dr. says the baby could come any day and then they still are pregnant two weeks later. so i'm not completely naive...) because I'm the only March birthday in my family, and it'd be kind of fun to have a little to share it with. :) Matt definitely has feelings about baby Jaden coming early, and he is opposed. He wants me to go a week over because then it'll be Spring Break and he won't have to miss classes. ;) I just smiled and told him when he's pregnant with our next kid he can decide to stay pregnant longer than necessary. Haha, I don't blame him though. Bless his heart, he's got an easier semester than the last one but he still stays pretty stinkin busy! It'd be stressful to have to leave classes and figure out this whole birth/dad stuff while catching up on tests the next day. Good thing it'll all work out though, right? In ten years if that's how it happens, at least we'll have stories to laugh about. :)
The next pictures I post on here will be of the nursery, which still seems kind of like a half and half room, since we have no where else to put our bookshelf and desk. Besides that it's coming along quite nicely! I still need to figure out where I'll put a changing table/dresser and I have a couple more decorations to hang up, but it looks like a little boys room now! I can't wait to have our little man here to complete it. :)
K seriously, your pregnancy has gone by soooo fast (for me at least) ;) I can't even believe you only have 29 days left! I am SO excited to see pictures of baby Jayden!!!
