Jaden's 2 month update

Hey Super Dude,  Holy cow, the time is still just flying by! (except for sometimes at night when we should just go to sleep. ;) ) It feels like just yesterday that I told your dad that you'd be joining our family, and he made me take another test to be sure... now we've got a two month old keeping us busy! We don't mind it, though, because you've started smiling at us. I mean really smiling. Sometimes I think you've got some giggles bottled up in there but you're just not sure how to get them out! You're still rocking the tummy time... for about three minutes and then you decide you can't see everything from on your belly and you holler at me until I flip you over, or you just kind of lay your head down in defeat and pass out two seconds later. :p (Working those muscles really tires a guy out!) This month you went on your first real adventure for Easter, and you were the best little traveler! I was so proud of you- you helped me feel more relaxed about it by just being your happy, content little self. :) You liked to hold my hand while we were in the car, and I hope that lasts for a long time. I'm sure eventually you'll be too cool or too busy to hold mama's hand, so for now I'm soaking it in.  You're still my little snuggle bug! There are lots of times when I'll try to get you to take a nap and fall asleep on your own- and sometimes you will- but usually you fuss until I snuggle you up against my chest, and then it's just a matter of seconds before you're asleep. I was kind of frustrated at first, because I worry that I'll spoil you into being a bad sleeper when you're older, but then I realized that you're my only baby that gets my undivided attention 24/7. Your little brothers and sisters will have to share me with you and each other, so I'm learning to just slow down and forget about being stressed over getting everything done. I just want to memorize every bit of each stage. :) I don't want to forget the way your soft hair always tickles under my chin when we snuggle, because it refuses to lay down flat. I want to always remember your adorable half smiles, the ones where you crinkle your nose. :)  You've been having a hard time eating the past couple of weeks. You'll eat for a minute and then just arch your back and tense up while you cry. I worried constantly that you weren't getting enough to fill you up before you fell back asleep, but I think you're doing ok. We went to the Doctor on Tuesday and you got sick before we left. You spit up (probably) everything I had just fed you, and you were one sad boy. Daddy just rocked you and loved you, and I was trying to hurry him up so we wouldn't be late! Then I realized dad doesn't get to comfort you very often- he's so busy working hard to take care of us and keep up with school and his callings- and I tried to back off. :p We finally got to the office and you had just fallen asleep in your car seat when we had to strip you down to weigh you and take your measurements. I always feel bad about that. You've grown so much though! The last time we were at the doctor was for your 2 week appointment, and you weighed 8lbs 9oz, and were 21 1/2 inches long! This time you weighed 10lbs 8oz, and now you're 23 1/2 inches long! No wonder you've wanted to eat every hour and a half lately- you're a growing boy! We giggled a little bit, because you're kind of turning out to be a string bean kid. You're in the 81% for height but only the 31% for weight. That's ok though, you have a tall skinny daddy, and we still really like him.  You're 'talking' lots more now, which is so much fun! You like squealing already, so we're going to have a lively house once you're really talking. :)  You still absolutely love bath time! After your shots we decided to let you take a bath in the big bathtub since there's more space for you to kick and splash. I wish I would have videoed it. :) You're our little fish already.  We're so proud of you, little man! You're such a blessing to us, and we can't get over how much we love you! Sometimes I think my heart's going to explode from it all. ;) Love you Super Dude! Love mom.

You're doing so great at tummy time! Even if your legs always
fly up because your head is so heavy. ;)

And you always make sure you let us know when you're
done with it. 

You and daddy love to take naps together. It's kind of my
favorite. :) I have two of the cutest boyfriends in the whole
world!

One morning this was the only way I
could take a shower... You loved hangin
out in your diaper though, so it was a
win-win.

You're getting so big!

This one is kind of funny because of the flash, but I wanted
to show your gorgeous blue eyes! I wonder if they'll stay this
blue or if you'll end up like mommy, with hazel eyes in a couple
of years.

You just love to kick your legs in the nice warm water! It's been
so nice now that we've figured out that a warm bath makes your
tummy feel better. You love to play, and we love that you're not
fussy anymore!
