Jaden's 5 Month Update!

Plus maybe a bunch of rambling updates on our life in general... :)

 

So we finally got a laptop which means I can download my pictures again finally... which means I can do photo dump posts again. Lucky you guys, right? ;p

 

Jaden is now 5 1/2 months old! (I had a little moment of panic thinking we're already (almost) halfway to a year since he was born. So weird!)

 

He's eating more solids now, and so far he's loved green beans, squash, and pears but he hates carrots. And usually bananas. Matt tried to give him lime juice because he thought it'd be funny to see Jaden pull sour faces (I know... what marvelous parents we are ;) ) but Jaden ended up liking it... plan foiled.

He still likes his rice cereal, but he hates formula when we've tried it.

He's still spitting up like it's his job, but for the most part he's as happy when he's spitting as when he's not so I guess that's good!

He's sooo close to crawling! He'll do these little 'launches' and belly flop forward, haha, I love watching him learn how to move where he wants to go. He'll always get this pleased little expression when he's made progress. :)

Jaden is doing better at nights, although he likes to be a night owl every so often to keep us on our toes. :)

 

I can't believe how fast he's growing and changing! It's so much fun at this stage to interact with him and play all day. It's like you can see the wheels turning in his little head, he just soaks everything in. He babbles all day long and has earned the nick name "Screech". I have moments when I just can't believe that I'm his mom- that this perfect little ball of personality came from me. :) He's teaching us so much!

 

And now... picture dumps. From like the past 3 months ha.

Jaden's blessing day was so perfect! I'm so grateful that we have
so many supportive and loving family members that came to his
special day. :) My friend Kassie took a bunch of pictures with the fam
so I'll have to do another post when I get those from her. :)

For like a week I left the pack and play in our living room so I
could let him lay under the toys while I attempted to get things
done around the house. :) Now that's way too confined for him,
haha no room to roll into couches or tv stands!

Jaden thought it was so funny to have a shirt
on his head a while ago, but when I snapped
the pictures he looked more traumatized than
amused. ;)
(But those ears...)

 These are from the trip Matt and I took together for our 2 year anniversary... a couple of months early. :p We went over night to the cabin in Hatch, rode 4-wheelers through Proctor canyon, roasted marshmallows, and then hiked Bryce the next day. It was our first (and so far our only) over night trip away from Jaden. We had a lot of fun, but we were glad to get home to our little guy's snuggles. :)

Super Jaden! :)

 Matt and I wanted to BBQ some hamburgers, and so while Matt made dinner Jaden and I discovered grass and bugs. ;)

For a week or so, Jaden wouldn't get up on his hands and knees,
he'd just do some planking. ;) It's so funny to watch him figure
out the different steps to crawling.

His faces kill me

We found these jammies after he was already
too big for them. :( So we made him wear them
once so mom could take a picture.

He loves his baths! Now we just use the 'big kid tub' because he tips over in
this yellow one trying to sit up straight. :p

 These were my last minute attempts to take 5 month pictures. :p Some of them turned out ok, but they're kind of sad. He's been a little grouch lately so I just hurried and grabbed the camera while he was in a good mood one day. :p

Our 2 Year anniversary dinner, and homemade tortilla chips with black bean salsa. (In which I cheated and used red beans.)

 

 Another one of Jaden's good mood moments from the past month. :) I love him in blue, it makes his cute little eyes stand out even more than they normally do!

 And this is where I parked him one morning while I did my makeup. We had just barely bought new toothbrushes and so I let him slobber all over mine before I used it. I must be a mom... I do not do slobber. ;)
