7 Month update

Mr. Jaden boy,

You're just flying right through this first year. Part of me is so excited about that, and part of me wants to squish you back into newborn clothes, swaddle you, and force you to snuggle with me.
Somehow I don't think that would turn out very well.
You're thinking that you're so big and so ready to just up and run off. One of our favorite games, lately, has been opening up the drawers in my dresser and trying to climb them. It only gives me mild heart attacks, so I keep letting you in the name of learning by discovery. Granted that means discovery of bonked heads, and scuffed knees now. It's kind of the worst to want to keep you from ever getting hurt, but realizing that we need to let you experience things so you can learn.
Speaking of learning, you are so fun to watch when you're figuring something out. You get so focused, it's like I can see the wheels in your head turning. You're such an observant, smart boy. :)
You love to go outside. You especially love to eat everything outside... the leaves are crunchy, the rocks are delicious. Grass has nice texture as well.
You're such a funny little eater, you've discovered finger foods and so now every once in a while you feel too big to be eating baby foods. You have to eat big kid foods, and not off of a baby spoon either. It's a fork or nothin.
I'm so proud of you bud. You're learning so much, but mostly you're teaching me so much. I absolutely adore being your mom. You're my little side kick and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for what I have now in being your mom. :) I love you, little stink!

(Excuse the sad phone quality of the pictures... life of a mom I guess.)
(Also pardon that at least 85% of the pictures I have of me with Jaden are 'selfies'. I try to tell Matt he should go all paparazzi and think, "Oh my gosh, my wife is smokin and I have the cutest son in the world, pause while I document them being flawless." but alas. I guess those moments don't happen in real life. ;) Haha. Whatever. At least in 20 years Jaden will know I existed when he was a baby, and all that good stuff.)
This boy loves his baths, and he LOVES front camera. :p

He also loves escaping mid- diaper change. Naked bandit on the loose!

He's been letting me snuggle him a little more lately.
My guess is teething (finally?) but either way I'll take it!

Have I mentioned I have a puppy?

Or a hairdresser? (Read as hair ripper... drooler... ya know. All the fun stuff.)

Funniest window picture hahaha

Just doin some pull-ups mom!
He looked like he ate a smurf after the sucker. :p

The aunties take their roll seriously when it comes to bribery.

My sisters transformed him into 'Earl Dibbles Jr.' haha
(Of course it goes all the way around!)

We made a 'sensory tunnel' yesterday. He didn't
love it as much as Baby Center lead me to believe
that he would. ;)

Snuggly little sleeper. I've been letting him put himself
to sleep- so he's not used to me rocking him to sleep- but
then I can't help myself from picking him up and
snuggling him for a while.

Puppies need kennels?

Baby hoodies are the BEST invention!
SO cute. :)

Grandma's house has the best snacks. And they
even let him grab a good handful of them at a time!

This is what nap times look like now...
And this. Another reason why
I need to get the bumpers back on the crib. :p

Playing the guitar with dad....
Really digging into the music. :p

This, friends, is after the first 'I pooped in the
bathtub, and mom is dry heaving while cleaning
it up' incident. Yes, that's still his Earl Dibbles Jr.
tattoo. Took a while to wash off.

Since we got the jogging stroller, I've gone on
a few more shuffle-wheezes with Jaden. He seems
to like it, although he does hate hats lately, and
rips them off the second I put them on.
(Thank heavens we have this one with Velcro!)
This is from the time I was a really good mom and let him eat a
pen. Usually I make sure the lid is on, but obviously I dropped
the ball this time. ;) It was probably more delicious un-capped
anyway, right?

Poor baby has been acting like he's got
a cold today, but did that stop the photographer
wannabe mom? Ptsh. Course not. :p

Smiling at daddy

I love how happy my boy is. Even when
he's not feeling the greatest, he still is smiley
for the majority of the day. :)

Just in case you guys weren't feeling the nostalgia like I was... I mean, you've got to be now, right? My baby looks like a big kid! (Also PS I could have sworn I took a 4 and 5 month picture but they are nowhere to be found. I haven't received ransom notes yet so I'm assuming I just totally spaced those months. We must have been playing real hard during that span.)
