Jaden's 9 month update

Just as a warning this is being typed while I'm under the influence of "tired mom brain". I just tried to spell update, 'u-p-d-a-y-t'. (Sad. I know.)

Mr. Jaden babe.
You. Are. Crazy.
Our days pretty much consist of me chasing after you while you turbo crawl to unroll the toilet paper or swirl your hand in the toilet bowl (yup. totally happened.) or get the trash can out from under the sink... or.... ya know. A million other mischievous things.
You've gnawed an entire sticker off of your crib that I couldn't get off of that thing to save my life. Sometimes I wonder if that makes me a bad mom for not stopping you, but then I realize I have no idea how to stop you. (Short of repossessing your bed and making you sleep in the pack and play, but then you'd probably chew through the mesh and escape.)
Kiddo, you're walking! It's so weird to see such a little person toddling. You're finally getting more brave about it too- if you weren't in such a hurry for everything you'd probably already be cruising. You'll only take about five steps before you give up and start crawling toward whatever it is that you want. ;) That's ok with me. I think it'll make you seem too big when I'll catch you WALKING around the house. It's definitely too soon for those kinds of shenanigans.
You're really loving 'big people food' lately- and so whenever I try to feed you baby food it just doesn't measure up the same. You're also getting more smart about being picky. You've figured out how to pick through the little bites I put on your plate so that you're only eating the hamburger, potatoes and bread and leaving out the veggies. Little stink.
You're loving all the Christmas decorations, especially the lights. But I mean, you're my kid so that's not surprising at all. ;) I'm so excited for Christmas morning with you, I hope you love ripping into all the presents. I think you'll at least love trying to eat all the wrapping paper, so there's a start. We're going to be spending Christmas with Uncle Matt, Aunt Mal, and your brand new baby cousin Reed. :) I wish you were both older- kind of- because I would love to watch you play with your cousins. I guess that's me living vicariously through you- I miss being a kid and all of the silly cousin games I used to play with my cousins.
You're jabbering to us all day long now- but you especially love to make 'wookie' sounds. You gurgle/gargle ALL the time. It's kind of hilarious to listen to you. ;)
You're still one of the happiest little guys I know, and you make our days so much brighter. We're always laughing at something you've done.
Tonight we took you to Zaxby's with our friends Brad, and Olyvia. You were seriously a beast. Child, you have the worst case of hanger I've ever seen. We ended up going outside to get the rest of your yells out while we looked at the cars driving past. At least daddy got to enjoy his food. ;) For some reason my food always seems better to you than his.
At your nine month appointment I scheduled your one year old well check... I kind of wanted to cry a little. One year? Why is that so close? I still feel like we just barely brought you home from the hospital. We're so stinkin excited to keep discovering more of your personality though. It's going to be so much fun to have an english speaking little buddy to tag along with me through the days. ;)
You're a whopping 17 lbs 7 oz now, and 28 inches tall. You've slowed down a little with your growth but your doctor isn't too worried. Probably because he saw you being a wiggle worm the whole time and figured you're burning off everything you eat practically the second you swallow it. :)
Love you little man. I can't imagine what I'd do without you!

(Do I even need to announce my traditional picture dumps anymore?)

Thanksgiving 2014 in Tropic
Great Grandpa Barton and Jaden babe after breakfast. :)

Cutest grandpa right? :) I think Jaden got his dimples.

Love this face, love these jammies, love this boy.

Can you see his little teeth? Don't be fooled by their size... they're powerful little chompers.

Taking some of his first steps!

This face haha.

And this one...

but especially this one. :D

Our form of bribery to get him to walk. ;)

I know it's blurry, but how could I not post this??

Ok, this picture melts my heart. Even if I have some killer chicken bum hair.

He obviously loved horse back rides... ;)

I parked Jaden here one morning with some Baby Einstein and his bottle so I could shower. I'm telling you it was the world's fastest shower- but by the time I got out he had fallen asleep. Which I didn't want him to that early- but he looked so comfy all sprawled out that I couldn't bring myself to wake him up. :)
Jaden's nine month pictures... or attempt at pictures haha.

The only way I could keep him from crawling off the bed was to let him chew on a lens cap.

I LOVE that he sticks his tongue out all the time now. It's so cute!

And on this note-- Merry Christmas!! ;)

  1. LOVE this! Love Mr. Jaden! I'm so looking forward to seeing you guys and having Jaden show us exactly how we need to baby proof the place for Reed :) I was feeding Reed while reading this and made him unlatch a few times from laughing too hard (especially at the last pic). Love you guys!
