30 Minute Rolls
We really love carbs at our house.
In fact, when I was pregnant that was seriously the only thing that I wanted. Bread, pancakes, pasta. Repeat.
Throw in some popsicles here and there, but that's another story.
I loved (and still do) fresh, home made bread and rolls the very most- you can't beat home made- but I don't always love taking the hour plus time to make it. Well, that and the clean up.
This recipe is technically for hamburger buns, but it's delicious and so we use them as rolls too. They're not as flaky as regular dinner rolls, but when you've got a time crunch they're amazing!!
30 Minute Rolls
1 C. plus 3 Tbsp. warm water
1/3 C. oil
1/4 C. Sugar
2 Tbsp. Yeast
(if you're as lucky as i am, you add some magic to your rolls by letting a very helpful buddy do the stirring. ;) )
Mix the above ingredients and let rise for 15 minutes.
Add the following ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
3 1/2 C. flour
Shape into buns, dip in melted butter and place on cookie sheet to rise for 10 minutes.
Bake at 425 degrees F. for 9-10 minutes.
