A day in the life of a blood thirsty killer...

Or just a deer hunter and her family. :)
Ok, I'm about to overwhelm the Internet with pictures.
Brace yourself.
Heading out opening morning :)
See the little orange dot? That'd be my dad and Erin.

Even if we didn't see monster bucks, we saw
gorgeous sunrises and beautiful scenery. :)
I love Hatch!

Still a few leaves left!

He's cute, right? My handsome hunter.

Sunsets out on the range are gorgeous, but I only
caught the tail end of this one.

Grandma's cute quaky trees :) Winter hasn't taken over yet!

Sunday morning was beautiful, and we
got to spend time in the cute, unique
Hatch ward.

These next pictures of the red mountains are for Gram. :)

And this one is for Gramps. :) I wish my zoom was better
because he wanted some pictures of "those good
looking cows over there" :)

Aren't they cute? They got telling stories
and it was so fun to see how these two
great men are best friends. :)

"Kiss me! Right on the cheek, see I'm ready." says my dad
with a silly expression and cheek ready for a kiss. No
response from Grandpa, "Ok, then I'll kiss you!"

Monday morning, the last morning we hunted during
Fall break

Two of my favorite guys :)

Ok, so I totally want to go cliche with this
one and throw out the
"All because two people fell in love" line. :)
But truly. Look at what they've made life for
all of us!

Love you two cuties. :)
It might be from the sugar overdosing, or from listening to far too many dramatic ballads, but I've felt overly reflective this weekend. Which was great since I had lots of time with family to reflect on. While my dad, Erin, Matt and I were driving out Saturday morning to unload 4-wheelers and start the hunt, I saw God today by George Strait came on the radio. After that it was all down hill. (but in a good way?) All the beautiful clouds, mountain greenery, sunrises, sunsets, and animals seemed extra amazing. There are so many gorgeous colors and shapes and feelings in the world, I can't imagine not having the knowledge that God created all of this for us, and for a purpose, because He loves us.
Spending so much time with family also made me super grateful for how close and supportive and loving my family is. We stayed up telling hunting stories, and family history stories, and laughing together. I thought a lot about families, and how it's such a good thing we're put into families to go through life with because on our own, I think we'd be a little lost and a lot less successful. I'm grateful we have family to be an example, a support and a safe place to go to in life. My grandparents, on both sides, have always been so loving and accepting. This is kind of turning into a soap box now, but I just have felt so overwhelmed with blessings in my family life. I never stopped to think about how not every family is this way and not everyone has the kind of family that I do, until the past few years. I think we take for granted how incredible our family is. :) And I think we forget that time doesn't stop, and that we're not going to be on earth with them forever. Which is why I'm also grateful for Heavenly Father's plan, and how merciful He is. This morning Matt and I read in 2 Nephi 19 and a phrase that was repeated in a few verses hit me. "... For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still." even though all of us make mistakes, and even though our sins make him angry, his hand is stretched out still. We have the opportunities we need to make amends and qualify for all of His blessings, and for eternal life with our families. How cool is that??

Hopping off the soap box now,
The hunt was actually pretty enjoyable. :) Minus the parts where I got all not feeling good and grumpy, it was so much fun to just be with everyone. We saw a couple of small bucks and both my dad and I missed... so clearly Erin should have stayed because we needed one of the Heaps to hit one. :) Matt and I even took the Mammoth road this morning on our way home and had a back seat full of orange and our gun but no such luck. Maybe the evenings this week are the lucky ones?

Also, Congrats to Mason and Miralva and stinkin adorable baby Brooklyn! If I had pictures, I'd show you. But assuming you all got the cute texts I'm sure you've seen her. :) I can't wait for them to move down here so we can see her in person!

  4. I love these pictures so much! And I love our family. I especially love the ones of your dad and gramps sharing the chair and laughing. It brings back so many fun memories of visiting at grandmas house and the funny funny stories our family would tell. Oh man they are the best! I wish I lived closer! Thanks for sharing.
