Excuses, excuses.

So. I haven't blogged in like ten years, and I do have excuses! Lots. :) Life picked up speed really quick! Matt's doing a class this summer that keeps him busy all day, and so any spare time we both have at the same time gets spent together, and off the blog. Obviously.
Here's a little catch up:
I started my pharmacy hours last Tuesday, so I've got three days down. (A measly  24 hours out of the required 180 ;) ) I like the people I work with, and the atmosphere at Smith's pharmacy. The only down side is being on my feet for 8 hours straight with minimal walking around, and no lunch break. (Well, no real set time for a break. If we get a slow moment in filling we grab our snacks!) The first day I just shadowed and tried to stay out of the way and jumped at any chance to do odd jobs around the pharmacy. (AKA bagging all the prescriptions and hanging them up before anyone had to, or getting the patients prescriptions while a tech got all their information down at the pick up window. Ya know. Sneaky little actions to silently beg for hire in 3 months.)
My second day was a little bit more hands on, I got to work in the product dispensing area and count lots and lots of pills, and then I did a little bit at the registers in the release to patient area.
This Tuesday was kinda like, alright, go for it Shan with occasional supervision. I still had to ask a thousand questions but it felt pretty good that they didn't have to hover. (At least not in comparison. I guess I seem rather trustworthy. :p)
(Fun fact, I tried to find a pharmacy technician stock photo to put on here for some visual interest... Yeah, there was a handful of normal ones (ish) and then this long line of mug shots? Yikes! What did I get myself into? ;p)

In our new ward, (oh you didn't know? They changed our boundaries, kicked us out of Bishop Lunt's ward- Yup, as in my dad's cousin Rick- and sent the entire Northfield Apartment population to the Cedar City Married Student 1st ward. Which is good so far...) we've been extended new calls! I think the bishopric is giddy with all the possibilities for callings they have now, and they've definitely jumped on that! Matt has been called to be the first counselor to the Sunday School president. I teased him that he got demoted since in our previous ward he was the president. ;) I've been called to be the Ward Music Chair. I guess I got demoted too since I had just been called to be the Secretary in Relief Society before they moved us. I dragged Matt onto the stand with me last Sunday, because in this ward the chorister and her husband sit on the stand. (Hooray for being RIGHT in the public eye, right?) It went mostly well... I just had some mild seizures on the 2:2 timed song. It's either reeeeeeeaaaaaalllly slow, or super fast. Good grief, I just couldn't pick!
(haha fun fact #2, chorister picture option list: unibrow child with a frilly collar? Strange horror movie looking character... and President Monson and his Wife kissing. :) Goodness I'm striking out on pictures here! Google, you've let me down.)
We like the bishop, and I love the sister I've been assigned to visit teach with. Funny story, I still teach my neighbor Megan. She was one of my girls last time! Hooray for familiarity! My VT partner, Stephanie, is such a sweet girl. She gave the thought this month, and she just has that quiet strength about her that I totally admire. I keep getting paired up with these amazing women! I don't know if that means I needed some extra help or what. ;) But I'm not complaining, I really do get to learn so much from the girls I teach and teach with. Visiting teaching really is an inspired organization. :)

Matt got his cast off last Tuesday, and he finally got some more hours at work! He found a new job at Chrysalis but the house he was in lost one of their tenants and so they just stopped putting him on the schedule and didn't really say anything to Matt about it, so today when he got that call I was a little surprised! He applied a couple of weeks ago for Premiere Pediatrics again, so hopefully he gets called in for an interview soon!
My job at Cedar City Chiropractic is still going really well. It seems like this month has been the month for everyone to come either really early or really late, which makes things interesting some days, :p but it's still good. It's a nice break to be able to sit at a desk in between standing at the pharmacy, so I don't really mind the crazy days here! It's nothing in comparison to busy times at the pharmacy.

All in all we're doing great, life is crazy and stressful and there are some hard things going on right now but it's just made me remember how grateful I am for the Gospel and The Plan of Salvation  in our lives. We love all of you! I hope your Summer is going amazing (and not as fast as mine is! Holy cow!)
