Week 28

Well, another one down! It's been pretty much the same story this week as it has been for the past few. :)
Sorry these are all just bathroom mirror pictures... Matt my photographer has been too preoccupied, and when he's home and I think about taking a real picture, I'm never very presentable looking.

Cravings: Pancakes and oranges. If I didn't have to peel all of them, I think I'd eat a whole bag of oranges in one morning! Maybe I can hire someone to be my peeler. ;)

Aversions: Just granola bars still. It's so funny to me- my mom has had some of the really good kind of granola bars at her house lately, and I just can't bring myself to even try to eat one. I'm starting to think that a lot of pregnancy side affects are purely mental. (does that mean pregnant=mental? Possibly.)

Hardest part of this week: Pesky Braxton hicks. I hate bending over to tie my shoes or... well to do anything really because that feels super uncomfortable when I'm having any of these practice contractions. Matt's been so nice (and my sisters too!) to tie my shoes for me occasionally. :p And untie them sometimes. Lots of days I just keep my shoes on all day because that's so much easier than taking them off and putting them back on. :p All I wear now are my Asics running shoes because they're comfy all day! They're not as cute as boots or flats but hey. I just want comfy feet. ;) I don't know what I'll do when I'm actually huge and honest to goodness can't bend over anymore. (Because right now I technically still can... I just hate it. And my reach is getting a little questionable.) I guess I'd better invest in some sturdy little slippers or something. :p Moccasins?

Best part of this week: All the tiny kick boxing parties that are going on in my belly. :) It's so funny to me how much he's moving lately! Especially at times like this morning when I can feel little kicks down by my hip and up in my ribs at the same time! He must be doing some serious stretching! It's also been pretty entertaining how he seems to know when there's someone else who wants to feel him move or if there's a camera around. I get that he'd be able to feel someones hand against my belly and so he'll stop, but I can't even figure out how in the world he always manages to stop kicking the second my camera is out to try and video it. (It's nuts to watch my belly do the wave when he gets going. :p) So even though it gets a little rough sometimes, I'm loving all the partying he's doing in there. :)

This week I had to do my glucose test. I should just join in the club and tell you all that it was just like all the horror stories everyone told  me, but it really wasn't that bad! (I'm just still crossing my fingers I passed it so I don't have to go in for round two. I still haven't heard from my Doctor's office yet.)
I went in Tuesday morning and stopped by my Doctor's office to let the front desk ladies know I was going to do the test so they could watch out for the results. Well, I spent at least 20 minutes there waiting for them to figure out if I needed to do the rhogam shot. I've got A- blood, and Matt is O- so we figured I didn't have to but we didn't really stop to think that we'd have to have proof of his blood type. :p Lucky for me, the receptionist is a super nice girl and she decided to try looking up Matt's records in the IHC database (or whatever). She told me if she couldn't find proof of his blood type they'd just have me do the shot to be on the safe side. (After my mom told me that it's like peanut butter being shot into your veins I wasn't thinking that sounded like my favorite option.)
She found Matt's records though, and took the rhogam off my lab order so off I went to sit in the waiting room for the next seven years. ;)
They were SUPER busy, so even though I'm pre-registered I had to wait for quite a while before they even brought the drink out for me. (That and they had at least 5 other girls there doing their glucose tests too. :p Apparently everyone in Cedar wanted a spring baby!)
The glucose drink tasted kinda like flat orange crush, I actually didn't mind it until I got to the bottom, and then it was kinda like I'd had it with that much sugar. :p (There was 50 grams of straight glucose in that little 10 ounce bottle!) The worst part about it was just how long I sat in the waiting room. It did make me kinda nauseous for a few minutes but nothing too awful. I ended up being in there with a girl from my mom's office. We joked that we felt like we knew everything about each other and each others pregnancies because my mom talks about us so often, so it was fun to be able to meet Bre and get to talk with her in person finally. :) And it was nice to have someone to chat with while I waited.
There was a girl who was there with her mom and sister doing the glucose test as well, and I felt so bad for her. She was only 16 and she was 27 weeks along. She'd had a lot of struggles it sounded like- and I can't even imagine how overwhelming it'd be to go through pregnancy in a situation like that. It was kind of funny though, it's like there's an unspoken club for pregnant women because I can not know one single thing about a person and then as soon as we realize we're both expecting it's like we're suddenly buds and by the time we leave we know all sorts of personal information. :p So the girl and her family talked with Bre and I for a while before we all left. They seemed really nice, I hope everything works out for them.

Anywho. Non-baby related news:
Matt passed all his classes!! He's finally done with the semester, and he's come home the past two nights and scooted the couch by the TV and put in a movie. :) Bless his soul, I'm sure that feels so amazing to be able to just sit and do whatever he wants! I almost don't want to give him the list he had me make for him to do over Christmas break. (i.e. fix the coat closet bar, take down the twin bed and start setting up the crib with me... :) all those fun things that have been neglected for the whole semester.)
When I left this morning he had made me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to take to work, and was folding laundry that I didn't get around to yesterday. :) I married a serious winner, right?? He's the best ever. :)
Also, yesterday was his birthday, and it was great! :) I'm going to do a separate post for that, so I have a chance to put up the (sad few) pictures we got before my camera died. Ask me again why I spent money on a nice camera, only to always forget to take it out of the bag or have charged batteries on hand?? Good grief. :p
Anyway. Happy Friday Everyone!!
