Happy Mother's Day!

My mom has always been pretty much the greatest person in the world to me, but this year has brought a new appreciation for her.  The nights that I'm up rocking my baby to sleep, I imagine my mom rocking me. The evenings when I'm exhausted from trying to get things done around the house while simultaneously snuggling my little guy who refuses to be put down at times, I wonder how my mom did it with twins!  During sunny afternoons when Jaden and I have happy conversations and sing and smile, I think of my mom doing that for me. I read my baby books, because of the hours and hours my sisters and I spent sitting on my mom's lap (or as close as we could possibly get to that) listening to her read over and over the books that we picked out with her earlier. When I think of the special, sacred moments Matt and I shared with the birth of our baby, I realize my mom and dad got to have those moments four different times now. 

It's been so much fun to watch my mama become the cutest grandma ever, and see my memories from my childhood overlap with these new ones with my baby. :)

I've also been blessed with two amazing mothers-in-law, who do so much for their families and have opened their hearts to me and make me feel like another one of their kids. :) Jen is the master of birthday partying, and one of my favorite birthday cakes to date is the one she made me last year! :) She's such a missionary wherever she goes and I love that example that our kids will have because of her. :) We just wish she was closer! 

Vicki has taken me on some fun mother-daughter dates for pedicures or shopping, and I've loved being able to spend some one on one time with her. :) She always takes such good care of me while we're visiting (or even when they're visiting). She's one of the most generous and giving people I know. :) She's kind and understanding, and I love that about her! 

Now, of course, this year I get to enjoy mother's day for myself too. Jaden is by far the greatest gift I've been given in my life. He and Matt are my whole world! I'm so grateful that I have such a loving and hard working husband who is and was on the same page with me when it comes to our own little family. He's been such an amazing support and the cutest daddy. :)  I'm so happy that we get the opportunity to have children, because it has taught me so much about my relationship with my Father in Heaven, and has made me reflect more about our Heavenly Mother too. I love being Jaden's mommy! I'm so blessed. :)
