3 Months!

Well. Another month has absolutely flown by. Baby boy is still our long skinny babe, but he's learning and growing so much in other ways! He's so stinkin close to laughing, sometimes I try forever to get him to giggle but... nothin. (Gee dangit Marissa. ;) )
Jaden is holding his head up by himself now, and is only occasionally a bobble head. ;) He loves to be 'standing' and looking around all the time. He does really well at night for the most part, in fact he has slept all the way through the night three times now! It's not very consistent but hey. I'll take it! The past week he's been going through a growth spurt and so he has been grumpy. Bless all our hearts.
He's normally such a laid back and happy guy but ever since his 2 month shots he's been a little bit more fussy, and then when he hit this growth spurt he decided to pull a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde kind of phase. The good news, though, is that it made him nap more and he still has plenty of smiley moments in between his grumpy moments.
Jaden still absolutely dies for bath time. He's quite the little splasher these days too, it's been so funny to watch him. He can be upset and crying and the second I stick him in the water he cheers right up. If I squeal when he splashes he just grins and grins. :) I love our little fishy!
This past week has been so stinking hot, and I think our apartment must be built more like an oven than a house. We've been on a steady diet of ice water and Popsicles around here. The other day Matt let Jaden try licking his Popsicle, and that little boy is definitely my kid. ;) He likes the occasional taste we give him! I've let him lick ice cubes since then, so I'm not just pumping my three month old full of sugar water. I think he just really likes the way the cold feels!
He's been hanging out in just a diaper or a onesie lately, and I'm loving all the 'nakey baby' time at our house! Rolls are much cuter when out in the open. I think we'll survive the Summer, but thank heavens for grandma's house being in town with some real air conditioning when we get too cagey in here.
Jaden has transitioned to eating every 3-4ish hours now and I think it's so nice to have at least another hour in between feeding him so it doesn't seem like that's all I'm doing!
Matt's staying busy still! (Did we expect anything different? ;) ) He submitted his CASPA application, and has already done a few of the secondary applications for PA schools. The Rural Health Scholars had extra budget money and decided to give it to the two students who were applying this year which means that we had about $400 of application fees covered! (Tender mercy, right?)
Matt's been working two jobs as of the last monthish, and as much as I hate not being able to hang out and do 'Summer things' all the time, I'm so grateful I married such a dedicated and hard working man. :) Jaden and I are lucky ducks that we get to keep him. ;)

As for me, I'm still just trying to keep up with taking care of my cute baby and house work and pretending like I enjoy making dinner. ;) Sometimes it hasn't been easy, but I think I'd have to be delusional to think that having a baby wouldn't completely change our lives in both wonderful and difficult ways. We're happy. :) At night sometimes I just get teary thinking about how blessed we've been to be able to bring a cute little boy into the world when we did. Jaden is already teaching me so much and making me a different- better, I think- person.

This was his handsome Mother's Day outfit
for church, but then church was cancelled because
of that crazy snow storm that broke all the trees and
knocked out the power at our church building.
I didn't mind, Mother's day was extra relaxing at home
with my boys. :)
(Not part of Jaden's update obviously, but this is what Matt
did for Mother's day. Sneaky boy, I thought he spaced it,
but he definitely proved me wrong! He started this journal that
our kids can add to each year on Mother's day; that way I have
all their cute doodles and handwriting in one spot instead of
trying to keep track of cards. :)
Matt also parked me on the couch with a pillow and blanket
while he took care of Jaden and cleaned up the house. He's
so good to me! :) )

Kell and Grandma Wilde came down for an
afternoon and hung out with us. :) It was such a
nice day with them there! :)

Ok. Babies in beanies are officially the best
pick me up ever. I mean look at him.
I need the defib. ;)

He's getting so long! Remember when he wasn't that huge
next to his giraffe?? Yeah. Me too, I'm pretty sure that was
yesterday...

His facial expressions are my favorite. Haha, they always brighten
our days.

Hahaha, tired little sumo?

He's started grabbing things, which is so
hilarious to watch sometimes. I love it!
(Except for when he wont' stop pulling his
binky out. Those mean hands, making
him cry and all... ;p)

  2. I love seeing you as a cute little momma! You and Matt make a great team and you have really been the best example of mothering. Cute little Jaden is so blessed to have you. I love these pics of your family. Isn't it a huge blessing to be a mom. I am so grateful for that and the knowledge we have of the plan of salvation. These little ones are God's children that we have on loan for a little while. Some day we will all return and live in peace with our loving Father in Heaven, as for now we get to enjoy every second of our family life! Love it!
