32 Weeks!
Well guys... I haven't gotten ready yet today so no bump picture this week. No worries, it's still there I promise.
This past week has been kind of a rough one! I finally got a chiropractic adjustment, and I think that's probably a big part of the problem... you're usually pretty sore afterwards since your body is used to having things in the wrong place and then they're suddenly back in the right place. :p I've been talked into buying a pregnancy support belt... when I tried it on for all of two minutes I was in heaven. So. Speak now or forever hold your peace- moms out there did you try one? Did you like it? After the Dr adjusted my lower back he made the comment that usually women have too much movement in the sacral joint but mine has been really tight and 'stuck' so I haven't had a lot of movement. Well... I think he fixed it and it's un-stuck now because That's been the hardest part of this week. Lower back and hip pain. (Boo) I guess the belt is just supposed to help your front ligaments from being strained by this gigantic belly, and to stabilize the other ligaments around your sacral joint. Seems legit to me...
Anywho.
Best part of this week: This kid has been MOVING. I know I've said that before but I think he just keeps getting more active... or at least the bigger he gets the more I can feel all his partying in there. :) It does get a little frustrating when he decides to unleash his boxing fury on my bladder, or when he gets his toes wedged up in my ribs, but it's still so funny to me when he gets going. I seriously just sit and laugh by myself sometimes... I'm sure I look like a total nut case. :p
Hardest part of this week: Like I said. Lower back and hip pain is no fun. It makes sleeping just about impossible since I can't figure out which side hurts the least to lay on. :p I guess that'll make me more appreciative of being able to lay on my back or stomach when this little guy gets here, right? :)
Aversions: I really need to write things down as they happen, because I know there have been a few times that I've started to eat something and I can't bring myself to finish it because 'the texture is weird' or 'I just can't'. I've turned into a pickier eater in ways since being pregnant. I'm curious if it will stay that way after? Or maybe I'll have my system back on normal planes of hormone levels and suddenly I'll eat granola bars like it's my job. Who knows, pregnancy is weird. (And miraculous and unfathomable and uncomfortable and wonderful and emotional and beautiful and... ;) )
Cravings: Milk. Sometimes when I'm hungry I'd rather just have a huge glass of milk instead of any food we've got on hand. (I haven't ever hated milk, but I've never been a super avid drinker either so this has been weird. I feel like it even tastes different to me lately, but I could just be crazy. Usually crazy. Definitely crazy.)
I've also really just wanted a big fat hamburger, and a bagel. Not necessarily combined or in that order. ;) Again, I've never hated bagels, but they haven't ever been my very favorite either so this was super random too. Maybe I'll have to put that on my to do list for the day: buy bagels. :) (If they're whole grain and I get low fat cream cheese- that I'll definitely spread at least two inches of its delicious goodness on the bagels- it's totally healthy, right?)
So. 32 weeks down and 8 to go. Give or take I guess. My app does a countdown of how many days left, and it's so weird to me to see it under 100. Under 60 even! We've got 57 left as of today, in case you're curious. I think we have basically everything lined up... we don't have a stroller and we're still waiting on the carseat but everything is in order to get one. I won't need a stroller right away anyway, so I'm not super worried.
The baby showers are coming up! I'm sure we'll get plenty of clothes for his first months of life, so I haven't really dared buy anything until after the showers. Maybe I should start stocking up on diapers and watching for sales or coupons on them. How many of each size do you get though?
I've got my packing list ready for my hospital bag but I've still been too lazy to pack it just yet. I keep telling myself I need to just get it done so I can be ready if this kid is as impatient as I am- and then keep convincing myself that his due date isn't until the 13th so that if he decides it's more cozy in there and stays put for a week past due I won't be completely dying. (Who are we kidding though, we all know I'll be pacing around feeling like a ticking time bomb as soon as I quit work anyway. Haha)
Anywho... there's your ramble update for this week! Sorry if you've all dozed off from boredom. ;)
I wore an underbelly belt and it was GREAT. I've needed it more with each pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest you don't buy a ton of newborn diapers. They don't stay in them for long. And the hospital will make sure you have enough diapers and wipes so you don't have to worry about taking any with you. We usually get small packs to make sure it's the right size. Then we'll buy them a big box at a time. If you notice a lot of blowouts or leaks, you might be off a size.
When we tried Luvs diapers a few years ago they didn't work well, but we just bought some the other day and they're SO much better than they used to be. Huggies are our favorites, but Luvs are a dang close second. My sister loves Pampers and she said Walgreen's usually has good deals on those. WalMart's Parent's Choice are the best when it comes to store brands. Kroger has been the worst. I'm sorry this is getting long, but when it comes to poop and pee I feel like you should know your options. [:
Nina I love your comments! Haha I appreciate any advice you want to give, I have no clue what I'm doing and what I should be doing to get ready! I went ahead and got the belt this morning... best invention ever.
DeleteAt my baby shower I got tons of diapers in Newborn, Size 1, and Size 2. So if you want to start stocking up on diapers before the shower, I would get Size 3. Which, by the way, is the size Kaden has been in for a looooong time (I kinda wish we stocked up on Size 3, because now we have to buy a box every week which gets a little annoying).
ReplyDeleteAnd P.S. I love target brand diapers. Its the only diaper that holds everything in, if you know what I mean. At least that's how it was for Kaden.
That's good to know! I never really thought about buying diapers, I think I just thought maybe you magically get exactly the amount you need from your baby showers. And sizes? Never thought about that either. Haha who decided it was ok to let me be in charge of a human anyway? I clearly have been out of the loop on lots of things! Guess I'll learn! ;)
DeleteGlad you bought the belt...it can't help but be a help...it think you know what I mean....i loved our little visit yesterday. you are such an Angel.....Stay well and take good care of yourself and Jaden....WE are getting excited for the baby shower....Fun times ahead....
